Embracing Stewardship: My Empowered Journey with AYAC 2024 at Canaanland
Life often takes us down unexpected paths, leading to moments of reflection and growth that we never anticipated. This year, I was eager to attend the Annual Youth Alive Conference (AYAC) 2024 at Canaanland in person. I had looked forward to the vibrant atmosphere, the fellowship, and the life-changing teachings that AYAC is known for. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to shift my plans and attend virtually via YouTube. While it wasn’t what I initially envisioned, this virtual experience has been profoundly empowering.
The theme of AYAC 2024, “Empowered,” has resonated deeply with me throughout the conference. Even from afar, I’ve felt the strength and encouragement flowing through each session. One message that particularly stood out was the first word during the Day 4 morning session, which focused on stewardship—a topic that has always been close to my heart.
Stewardship has long been a guiding principle in my life. From a young age, I’ve had a natural desire to serve, to contribute, and to make a difference. But, like many, my journey in service hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve had my share of disappointments and challenges—moments that left me hurt and disillusioned. There was a time when those experiences made me vow never to serve again. The pain was real, and it shook my belief in the value of service.
However, the teaching on stewardship at AYAC 2024 reminded me that true service is not about avoiding pain or seeking recognition. It’s about a deeper, more intentional commitment to serving God and others, regardless of the personal cost. Stewardship is more than just a good intention; it’s a conscious, daily choice to act in service, even when it’s difficult.
The message on Day 4 reignited my understanding of stewardship. It highlighted that real stewardship goes beyond mere intentions—it demands action, persistence, and faithfulness in every aspect of life. Whether in our relationships, careers, or spiritual walk, stewardship calls us to be diligent and proactive, to sow seeds even when the harvest seems far away.
This teaching challenged me to reframe my perspective on service. Yes, I’ve faced hardships, but those experiences don’t define the value of service. Instead, they’ve strengthened my resolve to serve with renewed purpose. Stewardship, as I’ve come to realize, is not just something I do; it’s an integral part of who I am. It’s a calling that I cannot ignore, despite past wounds.
Attending AYAC 2024 virtually has been a blessing in disguise. It has allowed me to reconnect with the heart of stewardship and to feel truly empowered once again. The teachings have reminded me that while our plans may change and obstacles may arise, the purpose God has for us remains steadfast.
